Construction Drawing Services
Construction drawing services prepare the construction document (CD) set a contractor bids and builds from: architectural, structural, MEP and civil sheets, a cover sheet and one sheet index, numbered to one standard and checked against each other. A free quote within 24 hours covers the whole set across all four disciplines, given the design and the engineers' markups, and our construction drawing services price it as one set.

A full construction document set has five parts
Construction drawing services draft each CD set in five parts. A front part holds the cover sheet, notes and index, and one part follows for each discipline. The table below names the sheets in every part and the source they are drafted from.
| Part of the set | Sheets | Drafted from |
|---|---|---|
| Cover sheet, notes and index | The project name, the general notes and the sheet index for the whole set | Your design and the sheets of every discipline |
| Architectural | Plans, elevations, sections, details and schedules | Your architect's design drawings or schematic design |
| Structural | Foundation and framing plans, sections, details and schedules | Your structural engineer's markups |
| MEP | HVAC, plumbing, electrical and fire protection sheets | Your engineer's or contractor's markups |
| Civil | Site, utility, grading and drainage sheets | Your survey and your civil engineer's markups |
A construction set needs the design and each engineer's markups before drafting starts
A construction set starts from the architect's design and from what each discipline's engineer has marked up, in whatever form it exists. Drafting is done from the files sent, never on site, so an existing site or building has to reach us as drawings or a survey.
Four disciplines become one set through numbering, one index and a cross-check
We number every sheet to the US National CAD Standard, list it in one sheet index and cross-check the sheets for conflicts. A missing discipline, one with no sheets yet, is drafted from the design, and sheets that already exist are assembled into the same set.
Design decisions stay with the architect and engineers; the sheets come from us
The architect designs the building and each engineer designs a discipline, so the design is theirs and the drawing is the drafter's. On each sheet the drafter works from the design and the engineers' markups, so a member size, a duct route or a finished grade stays as the designer set it. Where a seal is required, each discipline's sheets go out under the engineer of record's seal.
You might be an architect or an engineering firm, a general contractor or a design-build firm, or a developer or an owner; the set reaches us from all of them.
A construction set clears three checks before it ships
Delivery waits on three QA stages in order. The drafter runs a self-check, a second drafter a peer check, and a lead the final QA/QC review. Unlimited revisions within the agreed scope cover the set after it is issued.
Small drawing sets in 2 business days. Mid-size and larger projects from 3 business days, with the schedule fixed in your quote.
A construction set is the whole package, with permit and shop drawings drawn from it
A contractor bids and builds from the CD set, the whole package. A permit set is the part submitted to the building department, and shop drawings detail how a contractor or fabricator builds one component once the design is fixed. Each has a page of its own, and both are drawn from the CD set; an as-built redraw is separate.
